Grant winner Shirley Singree teaches biological sciences at Washington State Community College. She shares about her use of the free supplies:
“We had a great time incorporating the corn mash distillation experiment with our aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration lab. It was a great addition, as it tested for ethanol production whereas the others checked for oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production. The students really enjoyed seeing and getting to use the distillation equipment. We haven’t had that available to use before. The pop pop boats were fun as well.”
